The foundation had its maiden Open Championship (Mission 2011) in March 2011. This saw participation from all the 10 Regions in Ghana and a total of 120 practitioners registered and participated fully. There was a high sense of competition that unearthed good display of skill and talent, setting the roadmap for improvement in Ghana Taekwondo.

The Fredotu taekwondo Open Championships (Kyorugi) is an annual event slated for the Month of March each year. The “Mission 2011” and future championships are targeted at international audience and participation from the West-African sub Region and subsequently extended to cover the African area and possibly world.

Participants for the “Mission 2012” International Open include; Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire. It is expected to host an estimated 200 participants.

The Fredotu Taekwondo Foundation selected 4 promising players and a coach from Ghana to participate in the Panamai open in Nigeria.
